State Rep. Cary Pigman Arrested for DUI (UPDATED)
The Highlands News-Sun is reporting that State Representative Cary Pigman (R-Avon Park) was arrested for driving under the influence last night on his way back from Tallahassee at the Fort Pierce Service Plaza on the Turnpike.
UPDATED 3/24 4:20 p.m. – Pigman was given three roadside sobriety tests at the Fort Pierce Service Plaza. He allegedly failed all three and had difficulty just standing there according to the Florida Highway Patrol Arrest Report released today. He was supposedly so drunk driving down the Turnpike, that he couldn’t lift his foot more than 5 inches off the ground!
Pigman told the FHP officer he was traveling to Okeechobee county to visit family. The officer then informed the pie-eyed politician that he was miles past his exit…in St. Lucie County!
He blew 0.140 and 0.150 three hours after the traffic stop (!), according to the Florida Highway Patrol report. Troopers also reported they saw an open wine bottle in the front passenger seat.
Representative Pigman was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail and posted bond by noon today. He is not currently in jail according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.
